Lunch Meeting with Village Attorney Dexter Lehtinen

Mr. Dexter Lehtinen of Lehtinen, Schultz, Riedi, Catalano, de la Fuente, LLC was appointed by the Mayor & Council on March 19, 2014 to serve as the Village Attorney.  Mr. Lehtinen is a well-recognized and respected attorney, having formerly served in the Florida House of Representatives representing District 116 and as Interim United States Attorney for South Florida.  He has been a law professor for the law schools at the University of Miami and the Florida International University, as reported by the Palmetto Bay News (March 18-31, 2014.)

The Village Attorney is a Charter Officer, as recognized by the Village Charter, and is responsible for providing legal guidance to the Village and the Village Council and consults with the Council on legislative, quasi-judicial, administrative, proprietary, employment and all other governmental matters.  The Village Attorney also renders legal opinions, prosecutes and defends for and on behalf of the Village and assists in securing revenues from taxes, fees, fines and forfeitures.
