Featured Speaker: Omar Blanco, Florida House of Representatives District 115.
Omar Blanco is a dedicated public servant with over two decades of experience in emergency services and legislative advocacy. As the State Representative for Florida’s House District 115, he proudly serves communities such as Cutler Bay, Palmetto Bay, Pinecrest, The Falls, Kendall, and Westchester.
Omar began his career with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, dedicating over 20 years to protecting the community and rising to the rank of Captain. During his service, he also served as President of Metro-Dade Firefighters Local 1403, where he championed firefighter health and safety initiatives.
One of his most significant achievements was in 2019 when he played a pivotal role in the passage of Senate Bill 426, which provided cancer coverage benefits to Florida firefighters. His commitment to the profession and his peers earned him the prestigious 2020 Florida Professional Firefighter of the Year Award in 2021.
Elected to the Florida House of Representatives in November 2024, Omar Blanco brings firsthand experience from the front lines to the legislature. His priorities reflect his commitment to community safety and quality of life, focusing on public safety, reducing property insurance rates, lowering taxes, and protecting parental rights in education.
A lifelong resident of Miami, Omar is a proud husband to Carolina "Caro" Blanco, a dedicated public school teacher. Together, they are raising their two children, Kevin and Lauren. Omar’s faith is an essential part of his life, as he is a practicing Catholic. He also remains actively involved in emergency preparedness as a member of Florida’s Urban Search and Rescue Task Force One.
